Support patients & families this season by participating in our

Annual Holiday Meals Program

The holiday season can be especially difficult for many of the patients and families we serve. This year, we’re once again inviting our community to help bring a bit of comfort and care to those in need.

A Heartwarming Volunteer Story
Every volunteer brings compassion, courage, and hope into the lives of the families we serve. We’re honored by this touching testimonial from one of our incredible VIA Health Partners volunteers, whose recent experience beautifully reflects the impact of volunteering.

“Volunteering has been so fulfilling and continues to be one of my favorite ways to share my time! Because of my work with hospice and the incredible continuing education that VIA Health Partners offers, I was able to confidently lead my family through a difficult visit to Memphis this holiday to visit my grandmother in memory care. As she doesn’t recall most of us anymore, there were a lot of nerves and anxiety from my teenage boys to attend as they didn’t know what to expect. It was such a beautiful experience for all of us and I was so grateful for my experience with VIA the whole time I was there! I felt more equipped to help answer their questions about Dementia & prepared to support my grandma better than I ever would have been able to before!”

Stories like this remind us how meaningful - and life-changing - volunteering can be, not only for patients and families, but for volunteers themselves. If you feel inspired to make a difference, we’d love to welcome you into our volunteer family.

Testimonials

"Becoming a volunteer for HPCCR was a no-brainer for me. I was the primary caregiver for my friend when Hospice came on board; their guidance, care, love, compassion and presence helped us along her journey.

In 2008 I became a volunteer. I have had the opportunity to experience some of the many aspects of Hospice care; patient/family visits, IDG team participant, Tuck-In team and Chameleon’s Journey.

You may wonder what is “Tuck-In” - briefly, we call all of our patients/families under home care every Thursday morning . The purpose is to be sure they have all the medications and supplies needed to get through the weekend.. and we tuck them in!. (Our nurses are fabulous and usually nothing is needed).  Every now and then they do need something and we are able to help get what they need. We are also one more member of the care team providing a friendly voice and maybe a good laugh and an ear to listen. Sometimes we are the only visitor a caregiver or patient might get that day!

There are no ‘favorites’ but every interaction - by phone or in person - reinforces the teamwork which provides our patients with exceptional care."
